Shelton HS to host state robotics championship Sunday

Shelton HS to host state robotics championship Sunday SHELTON-Fifty of the state’s top teams involving more than 500 middle school students from across the state will compete Sunday in the Ct. FIRST Lego League State Robotics championship beginning at 9 a.m. The champion will represent the state in April at the annual First Lego League World Festival in St. Louis, Mo. The competition requires students to design, build and program robots using LEGO parts, motors and controllers to perform tasks that must be performed under a time limit. Additionally students must make presentations on innovative educational strategies involving their robot. The city’s students will be represented on four different teams in the championship. They are the Perry Hill Predators, the Perry Hill Brainiacs, the Shelton Intermediate Robotic Revolution and the Shelton Dominators. The event is open to the public at no cost.
