Diversity Day: Poor Weather but Sunny Personalities
Written by Lisa Lawrence on September 15, 2007Diversity Day is a well cultured event; it celebrates different customs and languages, and shares diversity among everyone through fun game and booths. The Shelton High School Robotics team has been volunteering at this event for the several years now, and we love it. Not only does the team volunteer and have fun, but it is their way of showing their gratitude to Pitney Bowes, one of team 230's major sponsors.
Each year the Robotics Team helps out with the game tables and demonstrates the robot. However, this year there was poor weather and the robot could not be demonstrated as much as the team would've liked to would have liked to. Still, whenever the sun came out, so did Talon VII, much to the enjoyment of the attendees.
Diversity Day not only represents the different cultures through games and activities but with the food also. There are many different kinds of food ranging from Italian, to Chinese, and even classic American foods. The event is normally held on one of the last Saturdays in September and the team is very glad to be given the opportunity to volunteer at this event and share its accomplishments with everyone.
