Rack 'n Roll Down at the Beach

?Ding, ding, ding!? The bell sounds, three times- the match has begun. Robots from last season?s ?Rack ?n? Roll? competition race around the field, as the Alliances try to navigate, pick up tubes, and score. This is the Bash at the Beach.
Bash at the Beach is an off-season event run by Robotics Team 236, the Techno Ticks. FIRST Robotics Teams from all over New England come for a day of action-packed competition. The Gaelhawks, who were among the attending teams, used the event as a great opportunity for new team members to experience what a competition is like and try their hand at being on the drive team. In fact, most of the Gaelhawk's attendees were new members.
The day began with qualifying matches. The team performed well during these matches, and ended up as the head of the 5th ranked alliance. Unfortunately, the team did not get very far during elimination rounds, losing in the quarterfinals.
After a long, fun-filled day, it was finally time for the awards ceremony. The Gaelhawks won the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) award for the second year in a row. All in all, it was a successful and exciting day for the team.
